Oxfordshire Secondary PE Network twilight

Event description

Dear colleague – further to the email we sent you a few months ago, we have had to change the date for the secondary PE networking.

The Youth Sport Trust (www.youthsporttrust.org) is devoted to building a brighter future for young people using the power of PE and sport. To support our work we have recruited a network of secondary school PE catalYSTs - leaders of secondary PE who are keen to:

* advocate the impact of physical education on young people

* keen to share good practice that they use every day in their secondary core PE classes.

* Work with us to raise the profile of our subject across their local area

Two PE CatalYSTs from the county; Matthew Bowler (King Alfred's Academy) and Neil Busby (Cherwell School) would like to invite you to an Oxfordshire Secondary PE network twilight for PE colleagues to discuss and share on going practice and key challenges.

We are currently creating the agenda for the networking that will take place on Thursday 7th June (4.00 p.m. start) at Cherwell School, Oxford. If you are interested in attending please hold this date in your diary and confirm your attendance to [email protected]

We are keen for colleagues to contribute to the agenda so please feel free to suggest content. Possible topics to discuss are:

* Maximising My Personal Best to teach life skills through PE

* KS 3 & 4 PE (Assessing, moderating, exams, delivering core PE)

* Support in managing Exam pressures

* Strategies for students to develop core life skills to help them achieve their full potential (i.e. Resilience, Confidence, Empathy, Creativity)

* Understanding, profiling the benefits & engaging Girls in PE and Physical Activity

Thanks.

Matt, Neil and Chris
