Longfields Young Leaders Making a Difference

Following a training session on October, the young leader programme is up and running and thriving at Longfields School. More than twenty young leaders regularly run playground games for the younger children.

The Key Stage 1 teachers have commented that "it has made a big difference for those children who needed occupying during break and lunchtimes".

There have been benefits too for the Young Leaders themselves. When asked what the play leader scheme means for their school, the Longfields Young Leaders wrote: "We think play leaders is amazing and it's a good experience for us to co-operate with younger children and care for them as well. It is fun and enjoyable, but sometimes it can be challenging too. It's great for younger children so they can play with us and have fun. Also our goal is to make every child have a smile on their faces and make them happy".
