Banbury Area U11 High 5 Netball

5 primary schools from the Banbury Area took part in a netball festival hosted by Banbury Academy on Thursday 3rd March. Before round robin tournuments, the 68 Year 5 and 6 students took part in skill sessions led by Year 10 students as part of their Sports Leaders Uk Level 1 assessments.  The children thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and the accompanying adults commented an how "well planned and delivered" they were.

After the skill sessions, the children put their skills to test in round robin tournuments.  The children rotated around on and off-court positions which allowed them to have a go at officiating roles as well as helping them to develop versitility on court.  The matches were very exciting and very competitive!  The final results put St. Josephs on top in both the Cup competition for the 'A' teams and the Plate competition for the 'B' teams.  The Grange came a very close 2nd place in both competitions.  Both these schools, as well as St. John's and Harriers who came 3rd and 4th in the Cup competition, qualify for the partnership finals next week.  Well done and good luck to all of these teams!
