PE Mentor faces Marathon Challenge!

On Sunday 24th April, Primary PE Mentor Chris will be tackling the 26.2 miles that make up the 2016 London Marathon. He’s been training hard over the past few months, hoping to raise money for the Heart of England Community Foundation, a charity which manages a variety of funds that are given as small grants to volunteer led groups and projects in and around Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire.

Chris said “I have never run this sort of distance before and have been training over the last few months to prepare myself for the challenge ahead”.

Chris is also hoping that his efforts will provide a good source of inspiration for pupils at the schools he is currently mentoring in, and across our wider network.  Classes may wish to challenge themselves to walk, jog or run the marathon distance (or part of) to get an idea of how far Chris has to run - remember you could also add this to your ‘race to Rio’ target total!
