Banbury Academy Family Kwik Cricket Festival

Banbury Academy’s cluster of primary schools spent the day playing Kwik Cricket at Banbury Cricket Club, Bodicote on Thursday 26th May.  The event was very well attended with 172 Year 5&6 students taking part making up 19 teams (8 of which were from The Grange!).

The 10 boys teams were split into 2 pools where they played round robin tournaments.  From each of these, finals were played between equivalent positions to decide final places.  Harriers finished in 4th place, Queensway  in 3rd, Grange A in 2nd and St. Leonard’s A in 1st place.  The 9 girls teams, were again split into pools and played a series of 2 round robins.  Grange A finished in 4th place, St. Leonard’s in 3rd, Dashwood in 2nd and Harriers in 1st place.  Respect was the focus school games value and staff nominated a student from each team to receive a special certificate which were presented at the end of the day.  Well done to all those who took part and congratulations and good luck to St. Leonard’s A boys team and Harriers girls team who will go on to the partnership finals in Abingdon on Wednesday 6th July.
