Kidlington Primary Schools Cross Country

Children from across the local Primary Schools; Dr South, West Kidlington, Edward Feild, St Thomas More and North Kidlington took part in a highly competitive Cross Country on Thursday 3rd November.

Students from years 1 to 6 really demonstrated the value of determination as they pushed themselves to produce their best in six very competitive races. To add to the challenge the course at West Kidlington took them through trees, field and even a small hill.

The children all rose to the challenge and produced some excellent races.

The winners in each section were;

U7 Girls: 1st St Thomas More

U7 Boys: 1st Edward Feild

U9 Girls: 1st West Kidlington (This race was decided by 1pt!)

U9 Boys: 1st St Thomas More

U11 Girls: 1st West Kidlington

U11 Boys: 1st West Kidlington

A big thankyou to West Kidlington for hosting the event and also to our leaders from Gosford Hill School for their hard work for making the event a success. The event ran extremely smoothly, thanks to the efforts of the leaders who organised the finish of each race, directed pupils around the course, acted as pace setters and collated in all the results during an action packed afternoon. Each one of them was outstanding as usual.

Teacher’s comments included:

 ‘A very well organized and fun event, The Secondary leaders were very engaged in the event and it was lovely to see them all joining in the final presentation at the end’ PE Coordinator - St Thomas More

‘A great event- well done’ - PE Coordinator Edward Field School

Well done all, a great afternoon of exhilarating action, thankyou to all!
