Banbury Academy Inclusion SHA

120 Year 5 and 6 pupils participated in the Banbury Area Inclusion Sportshall Athletics Festival held on 19th January 2017 at Banbury Academy.

It was a fantastic turn out with all of 8 of Banbury Academy’s cluster of primary schools taking part. The 13 teams were divided into reds and blues and rotated around a circuit of seven activities including continuous relay, standing long jump and javelin.  Although the emphasis of the festival was fun and engagement, there was a competitive element with the top 3 girl scores being added to the top 3 boys scores at each station.  Amazingly, every child went home a winner as all the teams won an event!  Some children were also crowned with special ‘passion’ awards for being really positive throughout the festival.

The festival was led by 27 Year 8 students from Banbury Academy after completing training in their PE lessons.  They did a very good job of running the activities and adding up all the results.  The leaders - Louis, George, Leo,  Nyle,  Kyran,  Harry, James, Ben, Aaron,  Quasim,  Tulaha, Samad, Maiauz, Myron, Cole, Christopher, Ava, Collette, Iris, Katy, Amy, Amie, Meagan, Brooke, Niamh and Kiya.
