Y2 Multi Skills at Banbury Academy.

From archery to golf, parachuting to hockey….it was a very busy day at Banbury Academy on Thursday 23rd March as over 400 children visited to take part in the Year 2 multi skills festivals.  The children had a go at lots of different activities based on developing agility, balance and coordination and fundamental movement skills such as throwing, catching, jumping, striking and running.  The activities were run by a team of 47 young leaders who were all part of Banbury Academy’s KS2 and KS3 Leadership Academy.  The leaders, from Dashwood, The Grange and Banbury Academy had met up beforehand to plan their activities.  They had to make sure that their activities focused on certain skills, were fully inclusive as well as safe and fun.  They did a fantastic job and made the day a huge success.  Respect was the ‘spirit of the games’ focus value for the event and 40 children won special certificates for this at the end of the sessions, well done to all of these children and to all those who took part!
