Cooper Cluster Tag Rugby Festival

The first event in the Cooper School Cluster Festival calendar was Tag Rugby for Year 5 & 6. The day was dry but windy, but this didn’t stop the enthusiasm that was seen on the rugby pitch. There were a total of 9 teams across 5 primary schools which included Glory Farm, Burepark, Fringford, Langford Village and Charlton-on-Otmoor.

The competition format was 2 pools, where A was the competitive pool and B was for teams to participate, have fun and gain the experience of playing tag rugby in a competitive situation.

The games were overseen by The Cooper School sports Leaders, who grew in confidence as the game progressed and ensured that the school games value of respect was evident in the games. The leaders controlled the game well and fairly.

The results were as follows:

Pool A – Winners - Langford Village

             Runners’ up - Glory Farm

              3rd - Fringford

              4th - Burepark

              5th - Charlton-on-Otmoor

Pool B – Winners - Burepark

Runners’ up - Glory Farm 2

             3rd - Fringford

             4th - Charlton-on-Otmoor

The teachers nominated 2 children from their school who showed respect throughout the games, so well done to these children. Langford Village and Glory Farm have qualified for the next round of tag rugby.
