The fifth annual tag rugby festival was held at Stratfield Brake on Tuesday 20th October. The forecast for the day was atrocious but there was a window of dry weather during the afternoon that we took full advantage of. Sixteen teams took part and all five Partnership schools had at least one representative team. Edward Feild has to be commended for entering eight teams.
Leaders from Gosford Hill each led a team through the festival, warming them up and playing small games with them when they were not involved in a match. Four sixth formers, Tom Hounsell, Sam Brooks, Sam Soroya and Patrick Siret refereed the games.
The overall winners of the festival were St Thomas More who beat North Kidlington by one try in the final. Joint third were Edward Feild and West Kidlington. The trophy which was donated by Gosford All Blacks has been won for the last four years by West Kidlington School.
St Thomas More School and North Kidlington will go forward to the County Partnership Final on November 16th at Stratfield Brake. Students from Gosford have been asked to lead the festival.
