North Oxfordshire Family Athletics Final took place at North Oxfordshire Academy Athletics track on Wednesday 8th of July. The winners from the Bicester schools and the Banbury schools came together to compete for the title of winners for the year 3 and 4 athletics final. The schools who made it to the final where St Leonards, Langford, Bloxham, St Thomas Moore and King Meadows.
Having won their family events the pupils were keen to do well and also knew the format for this festival. All schools were warmed up by their allocated leaders then sent off to their events, the girls competed in track first and the boys concentrated on the field events. Once all track events had been completed the boys and girls switched. Those not competing were on the side of the track supporting their teams and giving some fantastic encouragement to their team members and other competitors. The relays were at the very end and a fantastic way to finish the day with all pupils giving 100% right to the very end.
At the end all students gathered to hear the results in the girls competition 1st position went to St Leonards, 2nd Langford, 3rd Bloxham, 4th STM and 5th King Meadows. In the boys competition 1st Bloxham, 2nd St Leonards, 3rd King Meadows, 4th Langford and 5th STM. This meant that overall St Leonards 1st, 2nd Bloxham, 3rd Langford, 4th Kings and 5th STM.
It was a fantastic festival and the level of competition was very high, all who competed should be congratulated on their performance and be proud of how well they did.
