Parallel youth games

The Parallel Youth Games was held in Oxford on the 3rd of July. Children from Iffley Mead, Cherwell, Frankwise, Bishops, Springfield, Bardwell, Mabel Pritchard, Fitzwanya and Kingfisher schools took part in many different events.
One of the main aims of the day was to involve the children in different areas of sport and allow them to work together in teams or individually. Some of the events running in the morning were: Netball, Volley ball, Cricket and ball rolling, and the afternoon was full of fun packed activities as well.
The day was run by volunteers and helpers from each school. The children spent forty minutes on each activity, allowing them time to learn the basic techniques in each sport and have a fun game at the end.
Everyone enjoyed the day and the general feed back from the children was that they all developt new skills.
