National School Sport Week, Primary Schools Panathlon Monday 29th June 2009

 

With excellent weather on the day, this years Panathlon was well attended with 8 Primary schools being represented on the day.

The teams took part in a number of team  events.

In the mixed Benchball competition, Chesterton came out as winners, with Southwold in second place.

At the same time as this was going on, Bure Park followed there season long dominance in the Football winning, with Chesterton in second place.

Following a brief break,  new to this year, the teams took part in a rounders knock out competition. Bure park yet again over powered the opposition, with Southwold this time finishing in second place.

Following on from lunch, there were individual athletics events, including Javelin and long Jump. The day then concluded with the 60m, 300m and then the relays.

All teams had winners through the afternoon, which culminated in the team relays, with Kings Meadow having the final win of the day.

The final placing were

1st Southwold, 2nd Chesterton, 3rd =Kings Meadow and Bure Park, 5th St Marys, 6th Brookside, 7th Fritwell, 8th St Edburgs

Well done to all those who took part.
