The Cooper Family BISI Festival 2009

Cooper Family BISI (Badminton) Festival 2009

The Cooper Family BISI (Badminton) Festival for children in Years 3 & 4, organised by the North Oxfordshire School Sport Partnership, took place on 2 December 2009. The Cooper School Sports Hall was a hive of activity as more than 100 children from Charlton-on-Otmoor, Longfields and Glory Farm Primary Schools participated enthusiastically in a series of activity stations designed to improve badminton related skills. The Festival was the culmination of a series of coaching sessions provided for the children, in their Primary Schools, by Louise Gardner, the Badminton coach of the North Oxfordshire School Sport Partnership. The activity stations were run by 18Year 10 students from The Cooper School, who offered coaching tips and encouraged the younger children to improve their performance.

The Festival proved to be very successful and provided an ideal opportunity for the children to put their skills, developed in the coaching sessions, to the test in a competitive but fun environment.
