Cooper Family Badminton Festival 2009
More than 60 Year 3 and 4 children from Langford Village and Charlton-on-Otmoor Primary Schools gathered in The Cooper School Sports Hall on Tuesday 21 April for an inter-school Badminton Festival. The Festival was the culmination of a series of coaching sessions provided for the children, in their Primary Schools, by Louise Gardner, the Badminton coach of the North Oxfordshire School Sport Partnership. The event was run by 14 Year 10 students from The Cooper School, who led a series of skills stations for the younger children, encouraged them to improve their performance and offered coaching tips.
The competition, which was won by a team from Langford Village School, proved to be very successful and provided an ideal opportunity for the children to put their skills to the test in a competitive but fun environment.
