As the Easter break approaches it's now just 90 days until the start of the 2009 Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week. The response to this year's week has been fantastic with over 5600 schools signing up in the first 2 weeks. This means we are already over half way towards the magical 10 000 figure and we'd like to ask for your help in nudging a little closer to it before Easter.

Please encourage schools in your School Sport Partnership to sign up soon to ensure that they receive their Activity Pack.

Last week's launch saw Gerry Sutcliffe, Minister of Sport, join Olympians Jonathan Edwards and Denise Lewis at Cumberland School in Newham where they engaged in a series of activities with students and listened to their pledges. We have also signed up an exciting line up of ambassadors to support the week and to champion PE and school sport over the next year - details on them will appear soon.

Make sure all your schools are signed up by signposting them to www.schoolsportweek.org and remember there are some fantastic prizes on offer to those SSPs who get the greatest percentage of schools participating.
