The North Oxfordshire Academys Family Dance Festival took place on Friday the 20th of March. This highly successful event was run by Lise Harris, Dance Co- ordinator of the North Oxfordshire School Sport Partnership, she was assisted by 22 year 8 leaders.
In attendance to this festival were 176 year 1 pupils from Hardwick, Hanwell Fields, Hillview, William Morris and Cropredy, all pupils were attending a festival for the first time and were very excited.
The festival started with a huge warm up with everyone involved and enjoying themselves, the year 1s were then split into groups and got to know their leaders before they started to learn their set dance. All pupils were then taught a simple dance routine set around the theme Billy Goats Gruff story, ending with a victory dance around the troll.
To finish the dance festival all years 1s and their leaders performed their dance for the other students to see showing what the KS1 pupils ahd learnt. It was a great day and loads of smilling faces as they left, my leaders were exhausted but said they enjoyed it and would love to do it again.
