It became the day that the North Oxfordshire Academys Family were due to play their Hi Five Netball, the weather conditions did not look good. After several frantic phone calls to all schools involved to say we would not cancel due to weather conditions but we would adapt our festival to indoor benchball, their was relief from the teachers as rumours had it not all the practice had been working and the pupils could focus more on their basic skills in a game situation.
North Oxfordshire Academys Benchball Festival got under way at 10.30 on the 25th of March with almost 80 pupils involved from Hillview, Cropredy, Orchard Fields, Hardwick and William Morris. We soon adapted the sportshall into a benchball arena and play began. All pupils were involved spectators were on the edge of their seats and teachers were cheering on their teams and pupils were desperate to play and not be off. After several games each the scoreboard was begining to take shape and our final winners were Hillview 3, so well done Hillview 3. But thank you to all those that took part and got involved as it was a very enjoyable day for all. My netball leaders were great and very adaptable, so well done all.
