Partnership Schools Achieve National Recognition
Released: 16th January 2009 at 15:00 PM
It was revealed in a Government announcement last week that North Oxfordshire School Sport Partnership along with the majority of its schools would receive either Sports Partnership Mark, Activemark or Sportsmark Awards for 2008. The prestigious marks reward commitment to the delivery of the national PE and Sport Strategy.
North Oxfordshire SSP received the Sports Partnership Mark for the second year running. It is awarded to those SSPs where at least 90% of pupils from across the partnership were doing at least 2 hours of high quality PE and school sport each week during 2007-08.
42 of our 45 primary along with 2 special schools received Activemark 2008, while 5 of our 7 secondary and all 3 special schools received the Sportsmark 2008. In order to achieve these awards 90% of pupils across each school had to be engaged in at least 2 hours of high quality PE and sport a week during the last academic year.
