Bardwell Buddies Press Report

The Bardwell Buddies programme, which enables young people of all abilities to work and learn together, was re-launched recently for the 2008-9 school year. 29 Year 9 students from The Cooper School were joined by a group of students from Bardwell School for a training session held in The Cooper School Sports Hall. Training was provided by teachers from the two schools and was offered in conjunction with the North Oxfordshire Schools Sports Partnership.

Students were all involved in a variety of enjoyable play and sports activities which were aimed to develop their leadership skills. Great fun was had by all and new friendships were forged. The Cooper students in the programme have volunteered to attend Bardwell Special School for one lunch time per week to assist with leisure activities and share social time.

As part of the programme, further joint activities are planned for later in the year.
