YEAR ONE KIDLINGTON DANCE FESTIVAL

One hundred and eighty Year One children from all five primary schools took part in this year’s Magical Mystery Tour Dance Festival.

A couple of weeks before the festival the children were asked to colour in pictures based on the theme of wizards and witches and they were divided into groups: North Wizards, East Witches, South Witches and West Wizards. Each group of children wore clothes of a certain colour and each group had a Head witch or Head wizard who brought a wand, a large wooden spoon, a pot of glitter or a cloak as a prop with them.

Thirty-two Young Leaders from Gosford Hill’s Year 8 taught the children the dance and guided them through the morning. As a finale each school performed their dance to the rest of the group.

The ideas were devised by Sarah Hastings, our new Partnership Dance co-ordinator. and the children had a lovely morning.
