Year 3,4 pupils from Banbury’s primary schools geared up for the Wimbledon season by taking part in the mini tennis festival hosted at Banbury School. Dashwood, St’Leaonards and Harriers enjoyed a short coaching session delivered by Banbury Schools leaders before playing in a short round robin tournament.
In some very hard fought matches Harriers Ground narrowly pipped St’leonards 58 points to 52. Dashwood School achieved 49 points a notable performance when the size of their team was taken into account.
It was clear from the high standard of play that schools had benefited from the recent teacher training and the kit that was provided from the LTA.
Thanks for running this event most go to the Banbury School tennis leaders who trained for it as part of their after school tennis club and did a tremendous job.
All in all a very enjoyable morning of tennis in the sun.
