The conference will introduce young people to the leadership programme and provide them with the tools they need to deliver activities or festivals in their own schools. The conference will help to equip young people in starting a journey on a pathway of sports leadership, it is designed to specifically support young people with additional needs.
The conference will consist of a series of workshops with an athlete mentor and will end with students creating an action plan for their next steps. Lesley Malloch (YST Inclusion Lead) will be on hand to offer as much support as needed after the conference to help them get started with their first leadership activity and beyond.
Schools can nominate 4-6 students with SEND/additional needs from Y8/9 to attend the conference.
