U11 Tag Rugby Final

It was a surprisingly warm and sunny afternoon for the Sainsbury’s School Games Level 2 U11 Tag Rugby Finals, hosted by Banbury Rugby Club at Bodicote Park.

Nine teams contested the Final, following cluster competitions involving 30 Partnership schools in the preceding weeks.

Taking charge of the Final were the Young Leaders from Blessed George Napier Catholic School who welcomed the teams, collated the results and officiated the games, they ensured the event was an enjoyable experience for all involved.

On the field, Cropredy, St Leonard’s, Dr Radcliffe’s, Fritwell, Glory Farm, Christopher Rawlins, Kings Meadow, Harriers and West Kidlington continued to show the skills that got them to the Finals.

After a competitive and entertaining afternoon, it was Christopher Rawlins who finished as School Sport Partnership Champions, just edging out their fellow cluster School, Dr Radcliffe’s.

This year’s Tag Rugby programme has seen 630 10 and 11 year old playing Tag Rugby, with 80 Secondary School Young Leaders trained and deployed to support the competitions.
