'To be or not to be...' a School Games Poet!!

We had some fantastic and inspiring entries for our School Games Poetry Competition last term, run as part of the Oxfordshire Sainsbury's School Games Local Organising Committee cross-curricular competitions.

Primary School children were invited to write an inspirational poem themed around the 6 School Games values. This could be done as an individual, group or class, which they then had to film and submit to North Oxfordshire School Sport Partnership for judging.

The judging process was by no means an easy task, with language, delivery and applicability to the School Games Values all being considered. It’s fair to say that the panel were in awe of the ability and talent of the young people involved, not only in their writing talent, but with their confidence in delivery.

Due to the quality of poems entered, all have been forwarded to Oxfordshire Sports Partnership and will be compiled into a film and used at the Oxfordshire Sainsbury’s School Games Summer Festival. Selected poems will also be used in the official Oxfordshire Sainsbury’s School Games 2013-14 promotional film, and North Oxfordshire School Sport Partnership will also be using submitted entries at local events and competitions.
