Banbury Family Year 2 Multi Skills

All Year 2 students from Banbury Academy’s cluster of 6 primary schools attended a multi skills festival on Thursday 29th April.  The 249 children from St. Mary’s, St. Leonard’s, The Grange, Harriers, Dashwood and Queensway developed their agility, balance and coordination through a variety of activities including  skipping, parachute games, relays, hockey, archery and golf.  The 30 Year 7 Young Leaders did a fantastic job, especially as for most of them it was their first leadership experience. “Lovely young leaders and well organized”  “The young leaders were great, especially the girls who stood out with their approaches towards the children and giving them stickers” “Really well organized.  Leaders were very positive and encouraging.  All enjoyed it.”

The focus school games value was passion.  Lots of certificates were handed out at the end of the festivals to children who had tried especially hard during all the activities.

 Over 200 Y4-6s participated in the last event on the Banbury Academy 2017/2018 calendar on Thursday July 5th.  Targeted at children who had not yet attended a festival, it was a lovely event to finish with.
