Kidlington Yr 5& 6 G&T Sports Hall Athletics

The 2017 Kidlington Parternship Sportshall Athletics saw around 80 year 5 and 6 students from St Thomas More, West Kidlington and Edward Field primary schools compete against each other in a series of events. The standard was very high and every event was closely contested, with each athlete showing fantastic effort, determination and ability. Our value for the day was passion and the students embraced this value and produced displays bursting with positivity, pride and their support of each other throughout the event was a joy to watch.

The first round saw athletes compete in the field events; Standing Triple Jump, Foam Javelin, the Chest Push, the Vertical Jump, speed bounce and standing Long Jump. Each station was led by our leaders from Gosford Hill who set up led and guided the students to produce some outstanding results. Once the field events were complete we moved on to the track events; including Obstacle, paarlauf and lap relays. The students displayed outstanding Athleticism and raucous support as their teams competed on the track.

Edward Field eventually triumphed beating St Thomas More into second place, with West Kidlington 3rd. We wish Edward Feild the very best of luck in the next round. Well done to everyone who took part!

A big thankyou to our leaders from Gosford who were outstanding in their organisation and support of our primary school children.
