Change 4 Life Festival

This Tuesday, around 65 children from schools in the Bicester area came together at The Cooper School to share in some 'Change 4 Life' fun!

Children from Bure Park, Kings Meadow, Brookside, Southwold, Longfields, Dr Radcliffe's and Five Acres enjoyed taking part in a variety of activities, demonstrating the School Games value of 'Passion.'

After a giant game of 'Beanbag Tag' to get everyone warmed up, the children rotated round 3 stations; one focused on the skill of the Paralympic game Boccia and 3 in a row, another station used games from the Change 4 Life 'Combat' bag where the children wore velcro bibs and chased each other's tails and the last station saw children create their own games with badminton equipment, beachballs and balloons!

The children not only showed 'Passion,' but friendship and kindness too, sharing equipment, ideas such as beachball piggy in the middle and balloon tennis, and most of all, fun!

Southwold School start their Change 4 Life club with a rap to motivate them and they were inspired to teach it to all of us. Thank you!

Some children wore pedometers to track their activity level, 1 child had done over 8000 steps by the end of the festival!

Thank you to all the staff who run the clubs back at school, thank you to all the children for their enthusiasm and willingness to join in. You are really making a difference and inspiring others to enjoy being active!
