In the morning on Wednesday 20th June in the Kidlington Primary Schools Cluster, over 400 year 1 and 2 students from across the 5 Kidlington & Islip Primary Schools took part in multiskills festivals, delivered by over 100 primary school young leaders.
The year 1 festival was kindly hosted by West Kidlington School and was coordinated by Mr Latham & Mrs Heap and run expertly by year 5 and 6 leaders from both West Kidlington School and St Thomas More School. At the same time Edward Feild Primary School kindly hosted the year 2 multiskills event, which was coordinated by Mr Nutt & Miss Dalimore-Gray and run expertly by year 5 and 6 leaders from both Edward Feild School and North Kidlington School.
Remarkably all of the 40 stations across the two festivals were designed, organised and led by year 5 and 6 leaders, who did an outstanding job in supporting the younger students during the event.
The year 1’s and 2’s had so much fun and were not only physically active but were able to learn new skills and make new friends. The fact that over 500 children from across the 5 schools were all taking part in high quality physical education at the same time, across two venues is an amazing achievement and all who were a part of it, should be very proud!
