Bicester and Cooper Cross Country Festival

The weather started miserably with it raining heavily as the athletes arrived. Luckily, as the event progressed the weather brightened up, just in time for the races to begin. With 541 athletes ready to take part in the Cross Country run, it was a very crowded field! You could see the excitement and determination of each runners face at the starting line, some even managed to get the inside line already thinking ahead for the long race they had to take part in. Overall, everyone had a fantastic time and it would not have been possible without the help of The Bicester School’s 34 leaders that helped during the races to tell the athletes where to run along with welcoming them to the school. I would also like to add a huge thank you to the Bicester Athletics Club for all their help throughout the build up to the event, the event itself and with the scoring.
