The Cooper Cluster Girls Only Festival

The Cooper School hosted another Girls Only Festival on Wednesday 28 November, with 92 girls attending the festival. It was attended by Glory Farm, Fringford, Finmere, Langford Village, Longfields, Launton and Charlton-on-Otmoor Primary Schools. The activities that were on offer: trampolining, cheerleading and we introduced bean bag golf. Each activity lasted about 30 minutes and worked on a rotation basis. The trampoline session was run very efficiently by the sports leaders, giving the children excellent coaching and catering for their individual needs.  The cheerleading was led by Kizzy from Bicester Elite Cheer United and some recently qualified coaches, which are Cooper pupils. The sports hall was set up with hoops and cones all at different distance apart. The children had to throw the bean bag to the hoops and count how many throws they had to each ‘hole’. The children then added their score up after they had completed the course; learning that it better to have a lower score, rather than a bigger score.

The Schools Games Value was teamwork and each school nominated a pupil who had demonstrated the value during the morning.
