Bicester Cluster Events Term 1

Tag Rugby Tournament

It has been a busy and fun first term for the Bicester Cluster Primary Schools. We kicked the term off with our annual Tag Rugby Tournament. Eight schools battled it out over eight rugby pitches at The Bicester School. The tournament was divided in Pool A and Pool B with each school playing each other in their Pool. All pupils played with such enthusiasm and showed skill and determination. The Games Value for the day was 'Respect' and pupils showed this in abundance to their teammates, opposition players and umpires. The matches were umpired by the twenty fantastic leaders who helped make the event a success. The leaders chose three pupils throughout the tournament who had showed 'Respect' and these pupils were presented with a certificate at the closing presentation, along with the winners and runner up of each Pool.

Football Tournament

This was hosted and organised by the Cooper School and saw fifteen schools coming together for this great event. The weather stayed dry until the closing stages of the tournament, when the rain came and pupils and teachers ran for cover! The pupils played some fantastic football up until this point and displayed good teamwork throughtout the tournament.

Cross Country Tournament

This annual event was run by the Bicester Athletics Club, who did a fantastic job of mapping out a challenging course around The Bicester School grounds and delivering a successful event. The leaders were spread out over the course and gave each pupil encouragement and in some cases ran with the pupils - well done to the leaders. See article (uploaded separately) written by the Bicester Athletics Club on this event.

Girls and Boys Focus Festivals

This event was held over two weeks and the leaders delivered fun and engaging activities for all the pupils. Activities included boxing; gynmastics; dance; obstacle races and games and each activity was run by 5/6 leaders. There was a range of abilities at the festivals and leaders showed great compassion, encouragement and kindness to all the pupils ensuring that each pupil got the most out of the event. The Games Value was 'Passion' and the leaders nominated three pupils per school who had shown this characteristic during the festival.
