BGN Cluster Virtual Cross Country

 

580 children from five schools including Hardwick, Longford Park, Orchard Fields, St. John’s and St. Joseph’s took part in the BGN Cluster Virtual cross country during term 2.

Schools delivered the event on their own school site with set distances for each aged group; Year 1/2-1000m, Year 3/4-1500m and Year 5/6-2000m.  Many schools also used the event to run as an intra-house competition. Congratulations to all schools and children taking part in which there is no doubt, showed lots of determination and resilience to make it to the finish line.

In Year 1/2 girls’ team competition Hardwick were the overall winners, Orchard Fields runners up and St. John’s third.   Evelyn H (Orchard Fields) recorded the quickest time of 5.04 followed by Nelly 5.10 and Grace 5.12 (both Hardwick)

In the Year 1/2 boys’ team competition St. John’s team of four recorded the quickest overall times to finish in first place, followed by Hardwick and Orchard Fields.   Alex 4.46, Stylianos 4.47 and Joey 4.54, all St. John’s recorded the top three individual times.

Five schools competed in the Year 3/4 girls’ competition with St. John’s coming out on top. Orchard Fields took runners-up spot, Hardwick third, St. Joseph’s fourth and Longford Park fifth.  Daisy (St. John’s) recorded the quickest time, 7.59 (St. John’s), Clara 8.15 (Orchard Fields) was second and Georgia 8.30 (Hardwick) was third.

Five schools also took part in the Year 3/4 boys’ competition with St. John’s taking top spot, followed by Hardwick, Longford Park, St. Joseph’s and Orchard Fields.  Sonny (St John’s) recorded the quickest time 7.06, followed by Emmanuel 7.11 (St. John’s) and Riley K (Hardwick).

St. John’s again came out in top in the Year 5/6 girls’ competition, followed by Orchard Fields and Hardwick. Emily 10.15 (St. John’s) recorded the quickest time; Tia-Alisha 10.16 (Orchard Fields) was a close second and Beatrice 10.30 (St. John’s) third.

Orchard Fields took team honours in the Year 5/6 boys’ competition, closely followed by St. John’s who took runners-up spot and Hardwick recording third place.  Jake 8.59 (St. John’s) the fastest individual, followed by Orchard Fields pair, Vlad 9.51 and Musa 9.54.

The overall team winners and runner-up in each competition, along with the top three individuals will represent the BGN Cluster in the Virtual Partnership finals.
