BGN Cluster Term 1 and 2 Report

After a nineteen-month absence, Blessed George Napier welcomed primary school children back to take part in sporting competitions.  172 children and 19 teams from five BGN Cluster Primary Schools including Bishop Loveday, Longford Park, Orchard Fields, St. Joseph’s, and William Morris engaged in inter-school competitions and festivals during the Autumn.  Year 5 and 6 children had the opportunity to take in tag rugby, hockey and cross country, Year 3 and 4 cross country and Year 2 multi-skills.

Feedback                                                                                                                                                               “Brilliant referees; great explanation of reasons for decisions and the Leaders helped the teams during the game.”

“Games well lead, good communication between leaders and participants.”

“Excellent engagement from young leaders and they were careful to include, even our more reluctant children.  The young leaders were positive and enthusiastic, Thank you.”

“Everything was fun”

“Didn’t matter that we didn’t win, we enjoyed it.”

Playground leader training also took place at Bishop Loveday in September.  33 Year 5 students have been supporting Key Stage 1 children to have fun and keep active at lunchtimes.  In addition, St. John’s children took part in an intra-school cross country event in November.
