YouMove launches in North Oxfordshire

YouMove is brand new for Oxfordshire, it builds upon Cherwell District Council’s fantastic FAST Programme and is here to provide free or low-cost activities for families across the county. If your child/ren are in receipt of benefits related free school meals, then there are a fantastic range of activities for you to enjoy together, including at weekends and during school holidays. Activities currently on offer include swimming, badminton, activity packs, gym passes, climbing, children's holiday activities and so much more still to be announced!

YouMove comes at a critically important time, with many Oxfordshire families hit hard by the cost-of-living crisis and serious concerns around the mental health and wellbeing of Oxfordshire's children and young people. Being able to get active in a way that works for them will help families to enjoy quality time together, have fun and improve their health and wellbeing, too.

YouMove is funded by Oxfordshire County Council Public Health and co-ordinated by Active Oxfordshire, in partnership with district councils and other local organisations.

How to sign up
YouMove is for families with school aged child/ren who are in receipt of benefit related free school meals, families can sign themselves up at https://platform.youmove.org.uk/public/application_forms

Alternatively, families needing more support to enable them to be active (but who aren’t in receipt of benefit related FSM) can be referred by a trusted partner such as a school/teacher using the same link and the ‘refer a family’ option.

What do families get
Families with a YouMove membership card will receive heavily reduced local incentives, such as 75% off Leisure Centre activities including Swimming, Badminton and Gym entry alongside heavily subsidised offers from local Boxing, Climbing, Canoeing, Football and Rugby clubs and organisations. There will also be many specific offers form National Governing Bodies such as FREE All Star Cricket Summer programmes. Alongside these offers the CDC Activators will continue to deliver sessions in schools, parks, open spaces, and community settings for FREE.
