Cooper School hosted the North Oxfordshire School Sport Partnership Year 8 Sportshall Athletics Competition on 19 January 2012. The event, arranged by the Partnership’s School Games Organiser, Emma Jackson, was run by Year 9, 10 and 11 sports leaders from Cooper School whose hard work helped to ensure that the event ran smoothly and was enjoyable for all.
This event provided a participation opportunity for young people who are not currently engaged in extra-curricular sport. Many of the athletes were representing their School for the first time. Teams from Cooper School, The Warriner School and North Oxfordshire Academy took part. The athletes gained in confidence as the event progressed and were extremely supportive of one another. The boys' competition was won by Warriner with North Oxfordshire Academy and Cooper in second and third places respectively. Warriner also won the girls' competition but ,this time, Cooper took second place with North Oxfordshire Academy in third. Well done to all who took part.
