BGN Family Year 3 & 4 Inclusion Festival

Over fifty Year 3 and 4 children participated in the BGN Family inclusion festival held at Orchard Fields Primary School on Thursday 10th March 2016.  Six teams from Orchard Fields, St Joseph’s and William Morris Primary Schools participated in a circuit of activities designed to develop different aspects of skill, such as agility, balance and co-ordination, which link to the acquisition of more recognised sports skills as the children get older.  Year 7 Blessed George Napier and Year 5 Orchard Fields Young Leaders ran warm up activities as Schools arrived, followed by various skill based activities.  They also offered plenty of encouragement to all participations throughout.

During the festival, the Spirit of the Games value ‘Self Belief’ was a key focus area.  Two children from each were selected and presented with a special certificate to recognise their positive attitude, trying their best at new challenges and activities and being confident.

Congratulations to all children, student Young Leaders, teachers and teaching assistants who contributed to an enjoyable and fun afternoon.

“Thank you for another wonderful afternoon.  A big thank you to the young leaders and Mr Mawn.” (PE Coordinator)

“It worked really well.  Great to be able to host the festival and the young leaders were fantastic.” (Teacher)

“It was good fun and the Orchard Fields Year 5 leaders were really helpful.  We think the Year 3 and 4 children really enjoyed it too.”  (Year 7 BGN Young Leaders)

“The Year 7 BGN leaders were very supportive and we all worked well as a team.  We are looking forward to running our own Year 1 festival at our School.”  (Year 5 Orchard Fields Young Leaders)
