Banbury Academy Rounders Festival

Over 100 Year 3 and 4 children from Banbury Academy’s cluster of primary schools enjoyed a morning of rounders on Thursday 30th June.  Dashwood, The Grange, St. Leonard’s and Queensway had fun practising their skills before playing in ability based tournaments.  The festival was delivered by a group of Year 10 students from Banbury Academy as part of their ‘Sports Leaders UK Level 1’ qualification assessment.

The teams were divided into 3 leagues with each league having its own round robin tournament. The matches were very exciting with lots of the children showing plenty of determination which was the focus value for the festival.  The winners of the ‘A’ league were The Grange with Dashwood taking the runners up spot. The Grange were again victorious in the ‘B’ league with St. Leonard’s coming a very close second.  Dashwood won the ‘C’ league with Queensway coming second. Well done to all of the winning teams and to all the children that were awarded certificates for their determination throughout the morning.

Well done as well to the leaders who did a great job and were all very successful in their assessments!
