Increasing physical activity through skipping

John from Skip2bfit has kickstarted a skipping frenzy at The Grange!  All the children took part in skipping workshops when he visited in November and they haven't stopped skipping since. John challenged them to see how many skips they could complete in 2 minutes and then for them to improve their score after a 10 minute break. Nearly all the children managed to make progress, demonstrating fantastic determination and self-belief! This has proved to be a brilliant way to help increase physical activity as many children now have their own ropes and spend their breaktimes skipping and challenging themselves.  House captains have requested to organise a 2 Minute Challenge House Competition in the new year.  Staff have also introduced skipping into their PE lessons, finding it a great way to work some vigourous activity into their lessons.
