Released: 24th June 2009 at 18:00 PM
Wednesday 24th of June saw 5 schools from the North Oxfordshire Academy competing in their family athletics festival. The sun was shining, pupils from Cropredy, Hardwick, Orchard Fields, Hanwell Fields and William Morris all arrived wearing their sun hats and liberally applied suncream ready for an action packed day. The year 3 students started the day with their 600m event with a leader as pace setter for the first lap with huge smiles on their faces on the first bend. Smily faces were the order of the day as pupils returned to their teachers brandishing their placement slips. The North Oxfordshire leaders did a fabulous job in keeping the day running smoothly and even keeping to our running times. All teachers were fantasic in ensuring that pupils knew their events and were in the holding area 2 events prior to their competition. A smooth operation by all and a fantastic day of great athletics. Well done to Cropredy who won overall with some fantastic performances.
