Released: 3rd March 2009 at 10:00 AM
Congratulations to Roz Stanley, Lauren Carter, Laura Morgan, Lucy Hodkin and Rosey Delarue of Rope Commotion Jump Rope Team who have successfully completed their Level 1 Coaching Award for skipping.
The girls had to attend a two day intensive course and to pass a number of challenging skills tests, in order to achieve the qualification awarded by the British Rope Skipping Association.
The girls, all one-time students of Banbury School, have been skipping and competing in national competitions for over five years. They coach at club sessions and also run an open session; 'Jump in2 Jumprope' at Blessed George Napier Sports Hall on Wednesdays 6-7pm.
Some of the girls will shortly be applying the newly found coaching skills in a number of primary schools, as they organise and run after school clubs aimed at getting more young people into the exciting sport of skipping.
We wish you well girls!!
