COOPER FAMILY TAG RUGBY FESTIVAL 2008/9

One hundred Year 5 & 6 children participated in the Cooper Family of Primary Schools Tag Rugby Festival held at The Cooper School on October 21. The event was organised by Cooper School on behalf of the North Oxfordshire School Sport Partnership and was run by KS4 Sports Leaders from The Cooper School. The fourteen Year 11 students were central to the delivery of the event, leading warm up and practice activities for the younger children and refereeing the matches.

Ten teams from Langford Village, Charlton-on-Otmoor, Glory Farm, Fringford and Finmere Primary Schools played in a series of competitive and skilful games. Representatives from  Bicester Rugby Club minis section were on hand to offer advice and encouragement to the youngsters and to present the trophy to the winning team, The event was won by Charlton-on-Otmoor School, for the second successive year, having defeated Langford Village School in an exciting and closely contested Final.

The Festival proved to be a highly successful event and great fun for all.
