Wykham Park Ac. Y3/4 Football Festival

Queensway, Dashwood, The Grange, Hillview and Hanwell Fields took part in the Year 3 and 4 Wykham Park Academy Football Festival on Thursday 11th October.  33 Young Leaders delivered warm-up and skills sessions before the 13 teams took part in matches which were played across 3 round robin competitions.  The 5 A teams took part in a CUP competition.  This was an extremely close competition with Hanwell Fields and Dashwood finishing on equal points and The Grange just 2 points behind.  The final positions had to be determined by goal difference with Hanwell Fields inching ahead by just one goal, Dashwood therefore finished in second place and The Grange in third.  The Plate competition was won by Hillview who demonstrated outstanding teamwork throughout their games and won them all.  The second and third spot was very close with Hanwell Fields and The Grange on level points at the end. Again, goal difference had to be used to determine these positions; this brought The Grange out on top to finish in second place.  The Shield competition was won by Hillview with The Grange in second place.  A big well done to all the winning teams and good luck to Hanwell Fields A team and Dashwood A team who have qualified for the next round in November.

The focus School Games Value for the event was Teamwork with 2 children from each team being presented with special certificates at the end of the Festival.  Well done to all these children!
