North Oxfordshire SSP delivers specialist support, leadership, professional development and engaging physical activity opportunities daily.

Core Partnership Structure

The core NOSSP team is made up of a Partnership Manager, Assistant Partnership Manager and an Administrator. These roles are supported by a delivery team of PE & School Sport Specialists and the Youth Activators.

Girls’ Football in Schools Lead

The Girls' Football in Schools Lead is in post to support equal access to football for girls within the partnership. They are looking to embed football in PE curriculums, coordinate teacher training, organise girls-only extra-curricular activities and leadership programs and generate connectivity to female provision within community football clubs. The drive for equal access for girls’ is cascading beyond football as a result of this work!

Primary PE Mentors

Primary PE Mentors are qualified teachers with exceptional knowledge and understanding of Physical Education.
They support schools with lesson delivery and curriculum plans, working closely with the PE Lead to support colleagues to deliver High Quality PE lessons with confidence and competence, often through a co-delivery model. The PE Mentors are wonderful advocates for Physical Literacy, and have seen the role evolve into a resource for wider outcomes - particularly
linked to health and wellbeing.  The PE Mentors are an additional paid for service.

School Rugby Manager

The School Rugby Manager supports schools, clubs and communities in getting more people playing and experiencing Rugby and driving the movement of the non-contact format - T1 Rugby. By using local knowledge and building on existing partnerships to coordinate, facilitate and create systems that ensure Rugby is embedded in the school network, there is a growing cohort of young people engaging with new activity.

School Sport Coordinators

School Sport Coordinators are released by their Secondary School one day per week to support their cluster of Primary schools with an extended School Games Offer, which includes coordinated event delivery, PE Lead guidance, Playground Leader training and connectivity with Transition.

Youth Activators

Youth Activators are deployed into schools to support engagement with physical activity beyond the PE curriculum. They offer lunchtime or afterschool clubs, targeted provision during the school day for certain groups/classes and additional support with topics such as positive mental health through sport. During School Holidays, the Youth Activator team delivers park sessions and HAF programmes.

Our 63 Primary, Secondary & Special Schools work collaboratively in clusters to bring staff and students together!

“ I have been involved with NOSSP for 20 years, as P.E. Lead, Class Teacher and Headteacher and it has always played a passionate role in championing P.E. and School Sport across the area, working with all stakeholders, from the most enthusiastic to the least engaged. I really appreciate the way that NOSSP brings people together through physical activity; schools work together and interact, staff are encouraged to develop and, most importantly, young people come together in ways that they may not otherwise have been able to. It has never been more vital to ensure that all children in all our schools lead an active lifestyle and NOSSP gives schools and families the tools to meet this need in the best possible way.”
