Youth Activators & Holiday Hubs

Cherwell District Council Youth Activators offer several after school and out of school sessions for young people and families throughout the year.

The Activators can regularly be found in local parks and youth centres offering drop-in activities, and schools can also book afterschool FAST/YouMove sessions that give families the chance to play and interact together in a fun and engaging way – speak to your school to see if they have booked sessions with the activators that you can get involved in.

The Activators can also be found supporting the delivery of Cherwell’s Holiday Activity Hubs which run at North Oxfordshire Academy, Spiceball Leisure Centre, Bicester Leisure Centre, and Kidlington Leisure Centre during the school holidays.

The Hubs offer a healthy mix of sports, arts, crafts and games to keep children aged 5 to 11 years active, happy and having fun during the school holidays. All activities are delivered by qualified, and DBS cleared staff, with specialist coaches brought in for sport specific sessions.

Hub sessions run from 8:45 – 3:00pm/5:00pm and cost £15.60/£19.80 per day. There is also the option to add on refreshments and lunch to your booking. Sessions are offered on a first come first served basis, and always book up very quickly when released.

Children in receipt of benefits related free school meals can access the holiday hubs and lunch provision free of charge through the Government’s holiday activities and food programme (HAF), there are a limited number of places each day at each venue that are funded through HAF and families should speak to their school to be referred and given the discount code for booking.

In addition, for summer 2022, there will be further FREE cricket and swimming opportunities for FSM children – the cricket sessions can be booked via the links below, but to access the swimming sessions please speak to your school.
